West Ham vs Wigan - 20th April at Upton Park

West Ham faced Wigan this Saturday. Playing at home all they needed was one more win to secure themselves in the premiere league this season and avoid relegation into the lower division. The game started off slow with no real action. Wigan dominated possession and were the only ones who looked likely to score. This changed however when in the 26th minute Matt Jarvis recieved the ball on the left wing, dribbling forward he sent a lazy cross into the penalty box, eluding all players the ball met the goal untouched due to the keepers confusion following the jumble of players in front of him. With the score at 1- 0 the Hammers confidence sky rocketed and the remainder of the game was a one sided affair. In the 80th minute, West Ham scored again, this time with a beautiful volley by Captain Kevin Nolan, marking his 100th goal for the club. The ball was chipped in off a free kick and headed down by Andy Carroll who then bicycle kicked the ball straight to Nolan who finished the job. West Ham are showing a real positive difference this season and I look forward to their remaining games. - James
