The Barclays Premier League is an annual soccer League consisting of 20 clubs. The aim is to of course finish the season at number one. The bottom three teams are relegated from the competition, replaced by the top two teams in the division below and a wildcard winner. Each team is awarded 3 points for winning a game and 1 point for drawing one. Throughout the season 38 games are played both at home venues and away ones. Once a team reaches over 40 points they are considered safe from demotion,
although teams have been relegated with more. Controversy has always been present in the league due to the 'big four' this is the term given to Liverpool, Manchester Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea who dominate mostly every year of the competition, leaving some to consider it boring. However, recently other teams have entered the equation ready to give these teams a run for their money. Manchester city won the 2011-12 season narrowly beating Man Utd. Overall the competition is exiting and has added a lot to the game of soccer. - Michael
